GOAL: $4.2 Million
Elkhart Community Schools and the Club have entered into a historic facilities joint-use agreement that will be a win-win solution for the Schools, the Club and the Elkhart Community. The Schools have a greed to build a multi-purpose facility that will include a gym and mini-theater at Beardsley Elementary School on the condition that the Boys & Girls Club agrees to build a new clubhouse at the Beardsley location.
The shared use arrangement will produce significant construction and maintenance cost savings for both organizations. The arrangement provides for Club designated spaces that will be utilized exclusively for Club-related programming and shared spaces that will be available for use by the Club and Elkhart Community Schools.
The clubhouse will include: a secure Front Counter check-in entry point; a Teen Center that will also be available to Elkhart Community Schools during non-club hours; small group programming spaces to accommodate trademark programs such as SMART Girls, Keystone Club, Torch Club, Fine Arts, Technology and Healthy Life Skills; recreation space for pool tables, gaming devices, board games and high-yield educational activities; administrative support space that will enable professional staff to be on-site; a dedicated fine arts space that will enable the club to conduct high quality arts programming that will include drawing, painting, sculpting, photography, and STEAM programming among others.
